I forgot to mention that the students are required to work together - no divide and conquer.Greg Wimmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07804225750875354361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7029419017923677229.post-39526054890895900922012-05-07T20:39:41.138-04:002012-05-07T20:39:41.138-04:00@jsb16,

Some students divided the questions and some worked more collaboratively. I definitely heard many discussions during the test on the content. Students were still learning DURING the test.

@Greg thanks for sharing another good example of a collaborative test. Do you let students use the interent or notes during your test?concretekaxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03817234454056267050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7029419017923677229.post-69406545543275652392012-05-07T12:23:38.685-04:002012-05-07T12:23:38.685-04:00I use a similar test, but only for my Africa Unit ...I use a similar test, but only for my Africa Unit - Here is the test if you're interested:
http://goo.gl/57dOI. The Africa test, more than any other I give to the students, generates the deepest discussion and reflection of our studies. While collaborative tests may not necessarily lend itself to all content areas, social studies affords students to make connections and build on evidence to support analysis.Greg Wimmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07804225750875354361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7029419017923677229.post-50103402745252010722012-05-07T08:32:23.291-04:002012-05-07T08:32:23.291-04:00I'm not sure I understand how this worked. Did you get any copy-&-paste-&-change-5-words answers? Those are problems I've run into with lab reports in the past...jsb16https://www.blogger.com/profile/15026570673498674977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7029419017923677229.post-152247995033446482012-05-06T21:08:26.969-04:002012-05-06T21:08:26.969-04:00I love this idea. Currently I have just been using multiple choice tests. I really like the idea of the essay type questions with different colors. I think that I will incorporate that into my units next year.taranoreply@blogger.com
