I don't think of context as something I go out and get, but rather something that is more iterative in nature, bold and transparent and oddly nomadic. I especially like the juxtaposition of things out of context and how the mind works to connect. Perhaps it's the artist in me that appreciates such whim.

As for depth, wholeness does seem to matter. Not sure what u are reading but would recommend u take a look at Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari's work on rhizomes (A Thousand Plateaus). Made me reconsider the whole metaphor of tree of knowledge.

BTW, being highly selective on Twitter has helped me. At first I found it very odd, now I am enjoying it a bit more. It was a twitter link that led me here.Mary Ann Reillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14349201167828984708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7029419017923677229.post-40715099914169000822011-02-06T11:50:20.645-05:002011-02-06T11:50:20.645-05:00As much as a I embrace technology (yes, cell phone...As much as a I embrace technology (yes, cell phone and no land land) the more I don't want to give up ties to reality, to living hands on.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7029419017923677229.post-14985562520140649172011-02-06T09:39:32.673-05:002011-02-06T09:39:32.673-05:00This is beautiful. It takes time, and when you are starting down the barrel of THE huge state standardized test in a month...

I could definitely improve in this area.

- @newfirewithinJustin Stortzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08567054196972469484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7029419017923677229.post-69478139014517286112011-02-05T08:39:23.540-05:002011-02-05T08:39:23.540-05:00I'm up for it.I'm up for it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10956056168256756705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7029419017923677229.post-4911823510270368202011-02-05T08:29:19.153-05:002011-02-05T08:29:19.153-05:00What are your thoughts on a podcast? We get to know each other, record the gibberish for posterity and see where we go.

I am sure your neighbors have interesting stories, but we already know that we share some similar thoughts that if explored could lead to some new places....We have talked about this before. Great teachers do establish an understanding of context and as a result, engage students in meaningful learning.
